Simdega is a town in the Indian state of Jharkhand and is the district Headquarters of the Simdega District to the state of Jharkhand. It is around 160 km from Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand. Another nearby city is Rourkela (Odisha state).
This district comprises 10 blocks: Simdega, Kurdeg, Bolba, Thethaitangar, Kolebira, Bano, Jaldega, Pakartanr, Bansjore and Kersai.There are three Vidhan Sabha constituencies in this district: Simdega, Kolebira and Torpa. All three are part of Khunti Lok Sabha constituency.
